9:30 Departure from Beli Manastir – Osijek

10:00 – 11:00 “Tvrđava” The Fortress
A short drive takes us to the largest city in Slavonia, the city on the Drava River, Osijek. We are coming from the direction of Baranja, first we will see “Tvrđa” fortress, a complex baroque core from the 18th century, at that time the largest and most modern military fortress in Central Europe.
We make a small tour: the Holy Trinity Monument, the 18th-century Church of St. Michael, the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Cross, the city walls and the Water Gate (one of the remaining four gates) through which the fortress was entered…

Continuation of an easy walk from the fortress along European Avenue (the entire street was rebuilt in the early 20th century in the style of the so-called Viennese Art Nouveau), to Sakuntala Park, along Kapuziner Street to Ante Starčevič Square and the Concathedral of Saints Peter and Paul.
So we end the walk in the upper town.

8:30 Ivandvor
Visit to the first location of the Lipizzaner State Stud in Ivandvor. Not far from Đakovo there is a herd of broodmares with offspring. Visitors can enjoy the many pavilions and pathways and see the buildings that have been preserved in their original form.
The second location is in the heart of the city, one of the oldest horse stables in Europe with over 500 years of horse breeding tradition.

The path takes us further to the center of Đakovo. We see the imposing cathedral, built by its builder J.J. Strossmayer is better known as Strossmayer Cathedral. This magnificent building contains 7 altars, 43 frescoes, 31 statues, 32 reliefs, organs … it will not leave anyone indifferent.
After visiting the cathedral, there is a tour of Strossmayer Park, along Johannes-Paul-II-Strasse to the All Saints’ Church (former Ibrahim Pasha Mosque).

19:15 – 19:45 There follows a romantic drive through the Belje vineyards, on 650 hectares of own vineyards on the Banovo mountain, through whose most beautiful landscapes the almost 8 km long wine road meanders. The viewpoint “Karanačko brdo” is located in a special vineyard location, we will stop here for a moment.
