Shift your gaze for just a moment from the glittering waters and chances are an almighty mountain will loom into view. The Dinaric Range, which stretches all the way from Italy to Albania, hugs much of the coast. The limestone karst has bequeathed a wonderland of craggy peaks, caverns, river canyons, waterfalls, and ridiculously picturesque lakes. Head further inland and things flatten out again into rolling farmland. Active types will find plenty of chances to get among it on the numerous hiking and biking trails, while the more adventurous can have a go at rock climbing, rafting, and zip-lining. Croatia awaits!

Itinerary

Day I Arrival in Zagreb

Arrival in Zagreb around 11:00 a.m. Here we will have city tour and lunch. After lunch, we drive to Lonja Nature Park, where we will have a tour, visit Krapje, a village with an architectural heritage, take a boat tour on river Sava, try the local specialties and visit Čigoć-European village of storks. Then, we drive to Đakovo, where we will spend the night. Dinner.

Day IIĐakovo-Osijek-Nature Park Kopački Rit

After breakfast, we will visit the famous cathedral in Đakovo, and then continue to Osijek, where we have a city tour, see the Cathedral, the famous fortress and Kopački Rit Nature Park. At the park, we will enjoy the unspoiled nature, the different types of animals, birds, trees, etc. It is the best maintained wetland in Europe. In the meantime, we will have a traditional lunch here. After this experience, we drive back to Đakovo. Dinner.

Day IIIĐakovo-Vukovar-Ilok

After breakfast, we will visit the Lipizzan Stud farm in Đakovo, then we will be heading to Vukovar, where we will have a city tour, visit the Museum of Vučedol Culture, the famous Vukovar Water Tower, built in 1960, which was almost destroyed in 1991-95. It was hit more than 600 times! We will also have lunch here, and after lunch, we will continue to Croatia’s easternmost city, Ilok. We will visit some of the famous wine cellars, have a wine tasting, and go back to Đakovo. We will have a folklore program in the hotel. Dinner.

Day IVCheck out from the hotel-Ludbreg-Zagreb

After breakfast, we are going to the “Center of the World” – Ludbreg and then we will visit the Trakošćan Castle and the Museum of the Neanderthals. After the museum we drive back to Zagreb.
