The island of Dugi Otok is an island full of contrasts and peculiarity, and the biggest island in the group of North-Dalmatian islands, with slippery southwest steep, magnificent cliffs and lots of coves in which Sakarun and Nature Park Telašćica stand out. The island of Dugi Otok is 114,44km2 long and its bay is 179,75km long. Dugi Otok island is a meeting point of human, unspoiled nature and interesting cultural monuments.
The islands have long been known as an oasis of peace for travelers giving them an overwhelming experience of relaxation and spiritual and physical rest. Each island still has its „wild“ side as true evidence of the constant activities of unstoppable forces of nature – the sea and the wind. Dugi Otok is a true example of a place where these two opposites are most evident. Picturesque villages and secluded beaches collide with majestic cliffs and lush vegetation.
