When we arrive at the Japlenški vrh park forest, we immediately go on a refreshing walk through the forest. A short path leads us to the Japlenški vrh lookout point. The town of Delnice lies below us, the view invites you to take a break, we take in a wonderful panorama. The continuation of the path leads us directly to Pansion Lovački. This is relaxation with a view, an ideal place for lunch. Strengthened, we return to the starting point on the way and drive to our hotel in the town of Delnice.
Delnice is the highest place in Croatia. It is located at about 700 meters above sea level and is surrounded by mountains. In the afternoon we discover the city on an easy walk. Be sure to see the Rački House, the oldest house in Delnice and a cultural monument. Free time for your own activities until dinner. Accommodation and overnight.
Breakfast. An exciting day on the Kupa awaits us. We drive to Brod na Kupi, which is about 20 minutes from Delnice. Here life takes place in harmony with nature.
Our first stop is the castle of the aristocratic Zrinski family, today a particularly valuable cultural monument. In 1651 Petar Zrinski had his first castle built in Brod na Kupi, probably on the site of an older Frankopan castle from the 15th century. Today the Zrinski Castle is home to a permanent exhibition on forestry, hunting and fishing, which informs the visitor about the diverse fauna of Gorski Kotar and the activities in the forests of the region.
Our second stop is rafting or canoe / kayak safaris. Depending on the season and rainfall, the rivers offer all-day extraordinary adventures. Of course with experienced teachers and animators. The main rafting season is from April to June and from September to October. As part of the rafting, we have an agreed lunch.
Return to the hotel, dinner, a well-deserved rest and overnight stay.
Breakfast and departure to Risnjak National Park. Risnjak is a forest kingdom and it was the dense forest communities that gave him a “ticket” for entry into the national park society. When visiting the Risnjak National Park, the Leska educational trail is a must – one of the first of its kind in Croatia. It is easy to reach from Crni Lug and starts a few minutes’ walk west of the park administration. It is designed and built in such a way that every visitor can cross it independently. A series of 23 information boards, only 4.2 km long. With an easy walk, the path can be walked in about 2 hours.
At the end of the tour, food and drinks can be consumed near the administration building of the park. After a short break we say goodbye to NP Risnjak and drive home.
