Summer in Varaždin from June to August
Varaždin people and their guests can enjoy a varied program in various well-known and perhaps less well-known places in the city, which is combined in the traditional event “Summer in Varaždin”.
Summer will take place in several locations in the city center. Concerts, performances, stand-up comedians, dance evenings, DJs, exhibitions, festivals – Varaždin courtyards, beer garden and many other events will fill the days up to August 14 with interesting and entertaining content.

Festival – Varaždin Courtyards, the first Saturday in July
The Varaždin Courtyards Festival is part of the summer program.
The Varaždin Courtyard Festival was conceived and brought into being in order to further enrich the rich tourist and cultural offer of Varaždin and its historical core and to reveal the otherwise hidden corners and the identity of the city to the visitors. The center of Varaždin is full of life, which hides beautiful, intimate and often very private spaces behind the colorful and large “house gates”, which the festival opens wide and fills with a variety of content and programs.
About 14 courtyards and houses take part in the event. Music, drama, art, creative workshops, history, gastronomic delicacies, various lectures and many other interesting contents that entertain visitors and encourage them to discover everything that makes the spirit of Varaždin so special.

The Špancir Festival in August
The Špancirfest transforms the city of Varaždin and its streets into a colorful open-air stage infused with art, performances, workshops and gastronomic experiences. Varaždin, “Little Vienna”, will be the most popular excursion destination in the region for a full ten days for everyone who wants to have fun with good content. During this time, every place becomes a music stage and almost every green area becomes a gastro oasis.
Varaždin baroque evenings in September

The Varaždin Baroque Evenings is the most important music and stage event in central Croatia and of great importance to the Croatian baroque musical heritage as it encourages the research, performance and preservation of Croatian baroque works by domestic and foreign performers who often perform together.
The focus is on the authenticity of the room. Varaždin is one of the best preserved Baroque towns and the program takes place in palaces, churches and castles from that period; Authenticity of the performance, as the concerts are performed on baroque instruments; and the authenticity of the program when performing works of baroque composers.

Advent in Varaždin in December
The end of the year marks the romantic Varaždin Advent, which differs in many ways from other Advent festivals in Croatia. Advent in Varaždin is in the heart of the historic city center. Advent is fun, lively, fragrant and intimate – that’s how Advent should be. Diverse Advent programs are divided into several themed locations in the old town.

 This form of relaxing holiday is unlimited in time, you are free to stay a day or extend a few days.
