You can visit Kaštela throughout the year but it most attractive at the end of June when the “Days of Tradition” are held in Kaštel Novi. These dates are reserved for fashion shows of traditional costumes and an Ethno-eco fair of original traditional and island products. It`s when the rich Kastela cultural summer begins and lasts all through July and August.

Start your tour with Stomorija Biblical Garden, located on the southern slopes of Kozjak. Nearby is a magnificent viewpoint that provides views of the entire area of Kaštela Bay. You will come across a small vineyard with traditional grape varieties planted in honor of winegrowers and winemakers.
Move towards the coast and to Vuina Winery in Kaštel Štafilić. While wine tasting, you will have the opportunity to learn more about indigenous varieties of vineyards of Kaštela – Trogir. One of their most prominent wines is Crljenak Štafileo, produced from the red variety Crljenka kaštelanski, known in California as Zinfandel.
Next up is dinner in one of the nearby taverns on the waterfront. In your free time, enjoy an evening walk and explore the cultural and historical sights: Kula Nehaj, Kaštel Štafileo, Monument “Herald of Freedom“, Ćipiko Castle …

Don`t miss out on exploring Kaštel Lukšić in the morning. The restored castle is the cultural center of the city. The City Museum of Kaštela and other numerous cultural institutions are situated within.
The Perišin family in the heart of Kaštel Kambelovac awaits you. In their traditional tavern and wine bar, they will welcome you with a snack and prepare several types of wines such as Crljenko Kaštela, Maraština, Rose, and Pošip.
You are a 5-minute walk away from the Cambi Tower. Take a short stop then continue to the most photographed Kaštilac Tower in Kaštel Gomilica. The tower became famous after being chosen as a location for one of the most popular series, “Game of Thrones”.
An organized tour takes you to the vineyard of the Bedalov family. They have one of the best locations on the mountain Kozjak, 400 m above sea level. From here we will enjoy the most beautiful panoramic views of Kaštela and beyond. The hosts will explain how carefully wines are produced in an ecological way. For lunch, they will prepare delicious dishes paired with their own wines.
Return to Kaštela in the evening.
Spend the day in the easternmost Kaštela, Kaštela Sućurac, where the oldest defense tower is located. After breakfast, head to the Matela Winery, known for its long tradition of viticulture and winemaking. They produce red wines exclusively from their natural yeasts, which allows wines to preserve their individuality and uniqueness. Taste at least 4 types of wines: Crljenak kaštelanski, Babica, Plavac, and Pošip. Lunch is served at a nearby restaurant.
The wine tour ends where it started – on the Kozjak mountain. The Putalj Winery has more than 100 years of experience and family tradition in wines. They will first take you through their vineyards and production area before wine tasting. Enjoy a delicious platter of bread, prosciutto, cheese, along with homemade olive oil.
The most appropriate souvenir to bring home is the wine from one of the best vineyards in Dalmatia – Kaštela vineyards.
